…Because a Picture is Worth a Thousand Words, Give Mom a Caricature from Marriott Manila

If there’s one person that has a penchant for delicious, gourmet meal, that’s mom. For someone who cooks up a meticulous meal for the family, it’s no wonder why she has discerning taste buds. With this, there’s surely no other venue where she can indulge and celebrate her love for good food other than Marriott Café

Bring the whole family for Sunday Brunch, where it offers an upscale but a cozy venue to enjoy a promise of bigger, better, and heavier selections for brunch. And not to mention, everything gourmet!

With 17 stations including Cru Steakhouse and chocolate room for only P2, 500 net per head, Marriott Café got everything what a family would crave for from the healthiest greens, house-made pasta, savory steaks, to well-crafted cocktails.

To pay tribute to the woman that matters most, for every minimum of P12, 000 net worth of receipt is entitled to an instant free caricature for mom!

Since we believe that whatever hat she wears, mom is always at her most beautiful. On Mother’s Day, we’re adding a dose of cuteness with an exclusive souvenir caricature of her on Sunday Brunch.

And if the whole gang is in the mood to celebrate the day for dinner, Marriott Café offers Ocean Surf exclusively for this Sunday of mother’s day for only P1850 net per head. We know how most moms enjoy getting their hands dirty on rock lobster, crabs, oysters, clams, and shrimps.  That’s why our spread is stocked up only with the freshest and tastiest selections, whether it’s enjoyed as is or have our chefs make an exciting twist from it.

What’s lovely about this buffet is that, it’s not only about shells and seafood. The spread is pumped up with big slabs of beef and lamb slices from the carving station and other delicious options from the rotisserie. Swing by at the Chinese Station for authentic dim sums, pork barbeque, marinated chicken, and Beijing style duck. The dessert station decks out as well large array of choices both for sweet toothed and weight watchers.

While for some who plans to go in an intimate, classy venue serving decadent dishes,
Cru Steakhouse is the first in mind when making dining decisions. It’s also a venue of choice if you want to be settled in fine dining style of ambience with hands on service and pleasant staffs, who are very much adept on wine pairing too. For mother’s day, sous chef Rej Casanova whips up a surefire hit four course menu: Baby rocket salad with pan fried scallops, mushroom consome, grilled grain fed Australian ribeye with sautéed baby carrots & potato dauphinoise and creamy mushroom sauce or duo of baked mahi mahi and grilled jumbo tiger prawns, capped off with poached cranberries fresh apples vanilla bean ice cream—all these at P4, 000 net per head.

Sitting between your loved one while enjoying a perfectly composed and polished meal is always a great thing; but if it’s added with a weekend break in a snazzy hotel, whose mom wouldn’t love the idea? With this in mind, on offer is the special Mother’s Day room package. Spend a leisurely overnight stay in the deluxe room for only P9, 888++ single/double, inclusive of Marriott Café breakfast buffet for two with P1,000 worth of credits at Quan Spa and Jessie Mendez salon.

Discover Marriott Manila’s exciting take in celebrating Mother’s Day. From the world-renowned service, dining, and accommodation, it’s no wonder why it’s a favorite spot of every fun-loving family.

A day with my Sisters-in-law

Last wednesday, april 17, i called up my sisters-in law, Nikki and Sherry to accompany me to claim my prizes in Shangri-la Mall and somewhere in cubao area. It was also an excuse for me to bond and have a little reunion with them since i just got back from isabela and i only got a week to explore manila. Sad,isn't it?
Anyway, our first stop was Shangri-la mall. I needed to claim the prize i got from Ms. Rowena of Animetric's world at PJs sleepwear. You should check out their store for they have a wide array of  really nice sleepwear collections for your little ones! A bit pricey though. (For me. I don't usually buy sleepwear for my kids. Shirt and shorts are OK na for me).
PJs sleepwearis located at the Level 4 of Shangri-La Plaza Mall Edsa Mandaluyong City. They also have branches in Trinoma, SM Clark City, Limketkai Mall , Abreeza Mall in Davao & all branches of Rustan's.

After claiming the PJs, We headed to Cubao to claim my one year supply of Sisters sanitary pads. I was actually waiting for them to ship it to Isabela but for some reasons, they weren't able to.

My year supply of Sisters!

We went to Gateway after that to have a super late lunch and merienda. We passed by  Sumo Sam
and thought it was the perfect place. I apologize as i forgot to bring my camera and take photos of the meals. Be warned that they have huge servings! You will leave the place with a full , happy tummy and truly satisfied! I had to drink green tea bec i was starting to get feeling a little bit bloated or somethig like that. *burp!

Happy hungry people!
The soup i ordered was Miso soup(My all time fav!). I thought they gonna serve it in a mini bowl like what they serve in Tokyo Tokyo, i was totally wrong! My sisters weren't able to gobble up everything on their plates so they took it home instead.
Took a walk at National Bookstore to burn what we just ate, we were really feeling heavy and we needed to *burp! haha and then we headed home. bow!

I hope i can have a time again with these awesome ladies sometime soon! Manila, please take me back!

Rock legend Pepe Smith, Letter Day Story collaborate on “Salamat"

PINOY ROCK ANTHEM “Salamat”, one of the most unforgettable hits of legendary OPM band The Dawn, gets a charged-up tribute with its latest revival by the up-and-coming rock idols of Letter Day Story, which also features Pinoy rock icon Pepe Smith. The official music video is now on YouTube.

Letter Day Story members were naturally excited over the prospect of working with Smith for the recording of “Salamat”.  All of them, Dex Yu (guitars and lead vocals), NotNot Vinzons (guitars), Oli Agustin (bass and vocals) and Ej Arabit (drums), said they felt honored and thrilled.

"RECORDING 'SALAMAT' helped us connect with our OPM roots.  We realized that without artists like Pepe Smith and bands like The Dawn, Pinoys would not be rocking today," says  Letter Day Story bassist Oli Agustin. The music video was shot in NUVALI, an Avida Land property in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

“Siyempre, Pepe Smith na yan eh. Kung wala siya at ang ibang members ng Juan dela Cruz Band, wala sigurong Pinoy Rock ngayon. Wala rin kami,” said Dex.

Their version of “Salamat” retains the very relevant and very Pinoy message of the original but also creates a more contemporary sound that brings the OPM classic to a new generation of fans. The music video was shot in select areas in NUVALI, a sustainable and environment-friendly development by Ayala Land in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Drummer EJ Arabit of Letter Day Story recalls being star-struck by the thought of recording "Salamat" with Pepe Smith. "We were glad that he didn't have any star complex. Parang jamming lang talaga," he says. The music video was shot in NUVALI, an Avida Land property in Sta. Rosa, Laguna

“The positive response of younger fans to the revival of “Salamat” and its music video shows that there is a hunger and a need for OPM. We are happy about this because supporting OPM is one of our advocacies as a company,” said Tess Tatco, Avida Marketing Head.  Property developer Avida Land helped produce the “Tunog Natin” album to revive interest and appreciation for OPM among a new generation of Filipino music lovers.

Letter Day Story guitarist and vocalist Dex Yu considers it a high point in his unfolding musical career to be able to record and shoot a music video for "Salamat", a cover/revival recording by the band with Pinoy rock veteran Pepe Smith.

“Salamat” as recorded by Letter Day Story and Pepe Smith is one of the tracks in the compilation album, “Tunog Natin: Songs From Home” that features an all-OPM selection of ten classic and new Filipino songs.

“A simple song can express thanks, love, heartache and joy. OPM will always be relevant because it becomes our common language—something that binds us together. Through Filipino music, we are able to communicate with one another despite our differences, and find a common identity,” she said.

GUITARIST NOTNOT VINZONS of Letter Day Story hams it up for the camera with his love/thank you note. Vinzons and the rest of Letter Day story shot their music video for "Salamat" in NUVALI, an Avida Land property in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

“Tunog Natin: Song’s From Home” is a great showcase of Filipino musicianship. Artists who took part in the album include OPM legends Joey “Pepe” Smith; Jim Paredes; Medwin Marfil of True Faith and Gloc-9; as well as pop divas Faith Cuneta and Arnee Hidalgo.

ON A NEW PATH. Letter Day Story members Oli Agustin (bass, vocals); Notnot Vinzons (guitars); EJ Arabit (drums) and Dex Yu (guitars, vocals) take a new turn in their musical journey at Avida NUVALI, where they shot the music video for "Salamat", a cover/revival recording by the band with Pinoy rock veteran Pepe Smith.
