When William met Kate :)

Born January 9 1982 , Catherine Elizabeth Middleton  met William Arthur Philip Louis in Scotland where they were both studying history of art at the University of St. Andrews back in 2001. Kate is 5 months older than William. William said that Kate made him laugh, she has a good sense of humor, which was good for him because he just lacks of it.The two became good friends when living in shared housing in the University. Kate helped Wiiliam thru his academics, and Kate was his constant and supportive companion. The two continued to date for the next three years, and in November 2010, made history when they announced their engagement. William had popped the question with Princess Diana's 18-carat sapphire engagement ring (a gift from Harry) and they got married April 29 2011 at the Westminster Abbey where the whole world watched and documented the event. It is said to be the "Wedding of the century".

I can't contain the excitement the moment i saw Kate arrived the Westminster Abbey. She really was a blushing bride! Her gown  was designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. It was combined with traditon and modernity. the train she was wearing was over six feet. Kate really loves flowers, she suggested to have flowers embroidered all over her gown. It was hand made by the Royal school of needlework.I think the tiara lent by the Queen was a very nice touch. According to the official Royal Wedding website , "The dress is made with "ivory and white satin gazar. The skirt echoes an opening flower, with white satin gazar arches and pleats. The ivory satin bodice, which is narrowed at the waist and padded at the hips, draws on the Victorian tradition of corsetry and is a hallmark of Alexander McQueen's designs."

Kate's bridesmaid, her sister, Pippa

The gown, as well as the identity of the designer was kept top secret for the past 6 months. I love the way they kept it secret also for the Prince . When i saw the face of Prince William when he saw Kate,i wanted to cry haha, it was undeniably pure love. I even saw Prince Harry whispered to Prince William " wait till you see her!" as she was walking down the isle.

Oh by the way, Inspite of royalty, Kate still managed to follow A wedding tradition (Something old, new, borrowed and blue )
Something old: The bridal gown, from Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, featured “traditional Carrickmacross craftsmanship,” a lace technique that dates back to the 1800s.
Something new: Her parents gifted her a custom-made diamond oak-leaf earrings with a diamond-encrusted acorn set in the middle.
Something borrowed: Kate’s tiara, from the Queen
Something blue: A blue ribbon is sewn into the interior of her dress.

Anyway, more photos from the Westminster Abbey

My most favorite part of a wedding ceremony is when the groom finally sees her radiant bride. While most people are watching the bride make her grand entrance,I always look at the person waiting for her. It's amazing to see his eyes lit up with immense joy and a little bit of nerves. When Prince William finally laid his eyes on her, you can actually see him full of love and happiness! I even saw him saying "You look beautiful, babe!" to Princess Katherine. The moment was perfect!

I miss my dad again, I wasn't able to experience how it was, to be able to walk down the isle with my Father. I was walking alone when i got married a few years ago.

 "Husband & Wife"

On their way to Buckingham Palace for their wedding reception.

Their first wave as husband and wife

Their first kiss! as married couple!
About 650 people attended at the reception in the Buckingham Palace. Mixed kinds of canapes (or hors d'oeuvres) were served as appetizers.

These were all the canapes they had:

  • Cornish Crab Salad on Lemon Blini
  • Pressed Duck Terrine with Fruit Chutney
  • Roulade of Goats Cheese with Caramelised Walnuts

  • Scottish Smoked Salmon Rose on Beetroot Blini
  • Miniature Watercress and Asparagus Tart
  • Poached Asparagus spears with Hollandaise Sauce for Dipping
  • Quails Eggs with Celery Salt
  • Scottish Langoustines with Lemon Mayonnaise Pressed Confit of Pork Belly with Crayfish and Crackling
  • Wild Mushroom and Celeriac Chausson
  • Bubble and Squeak with Confit Shoulder of Lamb
  • Grain Mustard and honey-glazed Chipolatas
  • Smoked Haddock Fishcake with Pea Guacamole
  • Miniature Yorkshire Pudding with Roast Fillet of Beef and Horseradish Mousse
  • Gateau Opera

  • Raspberry Financier
  • Rhubarb Crème Brulee Tartlet
  • Passion Fruit Praline
  • White Chocolate Ganache Truffle
  • Milk Chocolate Praline with Nuts
  • Dark Chocolate Ganache Truffle
2 cakes are better than one!
Prince William has chosen an old family favourite made of McVite’s Rich Tea biscuits and chocolate. He said, it reminded him of home.Wherein Kate has chosen an elaborate multi-tiered wedding cake that will be decorated with fresh fruit and flowers.

At the reception , She wore another gown designed by Burton,  a strapless silk dress with an embroidered waistband, which she’s covered up with an elegant cashmere shrug.

 She looks exquisitely stunning!!

Good health, Lots of babies!, more love, and a happy life for you both!
Fairytales do come true , If you have a great faith, nothing is impossible.

.................AND THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER :)

AboitizPower APRI Outreach 2011

AboitizPower displays spirit of
volunteerism
and social responsibility in
Albay and Batangas

AboitizPower Corp., through its wholly owned subsidiary AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI), held a series of outreach programs during the holidays in the communities where its geothermal facilities are located.

AboitizPower held the activities as its way of thanking and helping the residents of its host communities—Tiwi in Albay and Makiling and Banahaw (MakBan) in Batangas—as well as promoting the spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility among its employees.

Children’s Christmas outreach and dental mission in Tiwi

APRI Tiwi's 40 volunteers and 18 scholars acted as kuya (big brother) and ate (big sister) to 100 indigent children from Bgy. Putsan in Tiwi, Albay during their Christmas outreach held at the APRI administration building.

Here, the children received gifts and enjoyed lunch, games, a magic show, and a photo session with Santa Claus.

Aside from the Christmas party, they also held a “Ngiting Kumukutitap” series of dental missions for the residents of the 25 barangays of the municipality with the help of the Rural Health of Tiwi. Volunteers from the Philippine Army Dental Team and the Albay Provincial Health office as well as Dr. Jezriel Mendones were on hand to render their services.
Around 700 residents enjoyed free dental health services that included tooth extraction and dental consultations.

APRI Corporate Services SVP Juan Alfonso and APRI Tiwi facility management consultant Bill Ruccius graced the missions that were held at the administration buildings of barangays Joroan, Naga, Cale, Tigbi and Nagas.

Christmas outreach, free visual screening,
and school donation in Makiling and Banahaw

APRI MakBan, meanwhile, held its first Christmas outreach activity in the area. As with the program in Tiwi, indigent children were treated to lunch, games, gifts, a magic show, a photo session with Santa Claus an entertainment number from APRI MakBan volunteers and 13 APRI scholars.

Alfonso, APRI MakBan human resources manager Arnel Sumagui, and facility manager Januario Marali joined them in bringing Christmas cheer to 150 indigent children from Barangays Bitin, San Vicente and Limao.

APRI’s outreach activities for the month of December also included a free vision screening for nine elementary schools from seven barangays in MakBan and armchair donations to Bitin Elementary School.

These programs were part of AboitizPower’s thrust of ensuring suitable learning to the students of its facilities’ host communities.

Eye consultations were conducted to help detect and correct visual problems that may hinder them from learning, while eyeglasses were given to those who had problems with their vision.

Alfonso and Maralit, meanwhile led the turnover ceremony at Bitin Elementary School, with the donations being accepted by municipality representative Jao Cabral, Bgy. Captain Apolino Navarette, the Department of Education Laguna’s representative Dr. Loreto Leonizo, and school principal Adoracion Quiatchon.

We are making these donations to help provide these students a suitable learning environment wherein they could nurture their dreams,” Alfonso said.

APRI’s outreach activities are testaments to AboitizPower’s commitment to go above and beyond mere power generation and distribution by initiating programs and projects for the educational, livelihood, health, environmental, and infrastructure needs of its host communities.

AboitizPower is the holding company for the Aboitiz Group’s investments in power generation, distribution, retail and power services.  It is a major producer of renewable energy in the country with several hydroelectric and geothermal assets in its generation portfolio. The non-renewable portfolio consists of plants throughout the country. The distribution utilities it owns   and operates are located in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. (www.aboitizpower.com

Father of the bride:))

While channelsurfing a while ago, while waiting for Anthony to leave for Isabela, I stumbled upon a 1995 comedy film, Father of the bride 2. Still has an effect on me though i've watched it a million times already. It still makes me cry.

George Banks(Steve Martin) is still having a hard time to accept that his daughter Annie (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) is happily married and is having a baby. Selling his house, denying aging issues and discovering Nina(Diane keaton) pregnant complicates his life even more!

What i love about this story is that it teaches you to appreciate your loved ones, to cherish memories of your childhood. Family is life.

Did you know that it is a re-make of the sequel to the original version, Father's Little Dividend.
a 1951 comedy film directed by Vincente Minnelli and starring Spencer Tracy, Joan Bennett, and Elizabeth Taylor.

Anyway
Father of the Bride is a 1991 comedy film, a remake of the 1950 movie of the same name.

"George Banks (Steve Martin) is an upper-middle-class owner of an athletic shoe company in San Marino, California, whose 22-year-old daughter, Annie, (Kimberly Williams) has decided to marry Bryan MacKenzie (George Newbern), a man from an upper-class family from Bel-Air, despite only knowing each other for three months. George can't think of what life would be like without Annie and becomes determined to make the upcoming ceremony as inconvenient as possible (especially when he finds out the wedding will cost him $250 per head), although his wife, Nina (Diane Keaton), tries to make him happy for Annie. When the wedding takes place at their home, along with an eccentric wedding planner named Franck (Martin Short) taking over the ceremony, George tries to handle the fact that Annie has grown up and has a life of her own."

Father-daughter wediing dance

The only time and the last time i danced with my father was in my 18th birthday party back in 2001 i think. that is why this scene made my eyes hurt a lot from crying.

Banks' residence

This has been my dream house ever since i laid my eyes on it :)

video
They say that this is a comedy film, yes, but i cried most of the time watching this, so i think it's more of a tear jerker  than a comedy one. :)

George: "I used to think a wedding was a simple affair. Boy and girl meet, they fall in love, he buys a ring, she buys a dress, they say I do. I was wrong. That's getting married. A wedding is an entirely different proposition. I know. I've just been through one. Not my own, my daughter's. Annie Banks Mackenzie. That's her married name: Mackenzie. You fathers will understand. You have a little girl. An adorable little girl who looks up to you and adores you in a way you could never have imagined. I remember how her little hand used to fit inside mine. Then comes the day when she wants to get her ears pierced, and wants you to drop her off a block before the movie theater. From that moment on you're in a constant panic. You worry about her meeting the wrong kind of guy, the kind of guy who only wants one thing, and you know exactly what that one thing is, because it's the same thing you wanted when you were their age. Then, you stop worrying about her meeting the wrong guy, and you worry about her meeting the right guy. That's the greatest fear of all, because, then you lose her. It was just six months ago that that happened here. Just six months ago, that the storm broke"

George: "Who presents this woman? This woman? But she's not a woman. She's just a kid. And she's leaving us. I realized at that moment that I was never going to come home again and see Annie at the top of the stairs. Never going to see her again at our breakfast table in her nightgown and socks. I suddenly realized what was happening. Annie was all grown up and was leaving us, and something inside began to hurt."

I MISS YOU DAD.. ..
